Workshops with the City of Covington
We are working on several workshops to promote the economic development in our beloved city of Covington. Follow us on social media for more information!
Past Events
On Saturday, September 6, 2025, Esperanza Latino Center hosted its 4th annual Feria de Salud (Health Fair) at our center in Covington. The event was a tremendous success, bringing together over 200 community members and more than 50 dedicated volunteers. Families received free access to healthcare services including vaccines, lab tests, medical check-ups, screenings, and valuable community resources — all offered in a welcoming, bilingual environment. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and the Covington Rotary Club, whose support made this day possible.
The fair was not only about health but also about joy and community. Children and families took photos with Gary the Lion, the beloved mascot of FC Cincinnati, and the day closed on a high-energy note with a lively Zumba class led by Samantha Shaw. The atmosphere was filled with smiles, movement, and connection.
📌 Save the Date! Our next Feria de Salud will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026 (the Saturday after Labor Day). We can’t wait to welcome you back!

Trade Courses Workshop
In April 2025, Esperanza Latino Center partnered with the Enzweiler Building Institute to host an Introduction to Construction workshop for nearly 40 Latino students from Holmes High School and Holy Cross High School. Delivered in Spanish with full interpretation, the session gave students hands-on exposure to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and more. For many, it was their first time experiencing these trades directly. Teachers praised the workshop for sparking curiosity and opening doors to career pathways that offer stability and growth. By connecting students to real opportunities in Covington, this program planted the seeds for long-term workforce development.
Later that same month, more than 25 Latino adults came together at Enzweiler for an Introduction to the Trades workshop designed specifically for community members interested in new career paths. Participants not only learned about training opportunities in skilled trades but also took part in raffles for professional tools to kick-start their journey. The impact is already visible—two participants from previous sessions are now enrolled in trade programs at Enzweiler. These efforts would not have been possible without the support of the City of Covington and its Economic Development Department, whose partnership ensures that Latino families are included in building the region’s future workforce.
Vaccine Drive
On Saturday, February 15th, 2025, Esperanza NKY partnered with the Northern Kentucky Health Department and the Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky to provide free COVID-19 and flu vaccines to the local Latino/Hispanic community.
Thanks to this collaboration, we successfully administered 36 vaccines, helping to protect the health and well-being of our community members. We are grateful for the support of our partners and the volunteers who participated in making this event a success. Together, we continue working towards a healthier and stronger Northern Kentucky.
